About the Opportunity

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Account Executive, Strategic Accounts – Mexico. In this role, you will work with higher education institution executives, including Presidents, Provosts, CFOs, CIOs, Rectors, and Board stakeholders to build strategic relationships and advance complex, high-value opportunities through a consultative sales approach.

This role will focus on modernization projects, strategic accounts, and transformational opportunities in Mexico. The ideal candidate brings deep SaaS expertise, strong enterprise selling capability, experience with complex multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and an AI-first approach to commercial strategy and customer engagement.

This is an individual contributor role and does not include people management responsibilities.

Where You Will Make an Impact

    • Serve as a key player in Ellucian’s field sales organization to drive strategic growth in Mexico.
    • Lead complex sales cycles across high-value strategic accounts and modernization opportunities.
    • Develop effective and specific account plans to support revenue target delivery and sustainable growth.
    • Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with customers and prospects, including C-level and institutional leadership.
    • Apply consultative and value-based selling approaches leveraging Ellucian’s portfolio and strategic positioning.
    • Establish trusted relationships with senior decision-makers based on understanding customer priorities, transformation goals, and institutional needs.
    • Actively assess each customer’s technology footprint, modernization priorities, strategic direction, and competitive landscape.
    • Review relevant public information, market dynamics, executive changes, and institutional priorities to remain current on the issues impacting customer decisions.
    • Lead a designated strategic territory, including account planning, prospect profiling, relationship mapping, and sales cycle management.
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive business plans aligned to customer priorities and pain points.
    • Drive demand generation, pipeline development, and opportunity advancement within assigned strategic accounts.
    • Manage sales execution through disciplined forecasting, account strategy, resource alignment, and commercial planning.
    • Orchestrate complex sales cycles by aligning internal stakeholders across pre-sales, proposals, professional services, customer success, marketing, and leadership.
    • Position Ellucian as a strong modernization partner and a credible alternative to legacy ERP and student system environments.
    • Integrate AI-first narratives, innovation themes, and forward-looking value propositions into customer engagement and deal strategy.
    • Drive both new logo acquisition and strategic expansion opportunities where appropriate.

What You Will Bring

    • 10+ years of successful enterprise sales experience in complex, team-based selling environments.
    • 5+ years of successful SaaS sales experience.
    • Proven success managing complex enterprise software sales cycles from start to finish, with a track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas.
    • Demonstrated experience in account segmentation, whitespace identification, pipeline creation, strategic account planning, business value justification, and forecasting.
    • Proven ability to build pipeline and develop net new opportunities in underpenetrated or new accounts.
    • Strong executive presence and demonstrated success engaging CIO, CFO, CEO, President, Rector, and other senior stakeholders.
    • Proven success in transformational selling and customer modernization strategy.
    • Experience selling ERP, SIS, HCM, Finance, or other mission-critical enterprise applications is strongly preferred.
    • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams to maximize selling opportunities and accelerate deal progression.
    • Professional fluency in Spanish and English is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI-first thinking into customer conversations and commercial execution.
    • Ability to travel up to 50%.
    • Experience in higher education is preferred.
