About the Opportunity

Seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Senior AI Operations Integration Engineer to build and operationalize secure, reusable integrations and automation that power enterprise AI use cases and adjacent IT workflows. This role focuses on designing and scaling API-based integrations across systems such as Okta/AD, ITSM platforms, M365 admin portals, AWS services, and key AI tools—leveraging cloud-native services, workflow automation platforms, and lightweight services.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience building production-grade integrations with robust authentication, logging, monitoring, and secrets management. They are comfortable creating governed AI consumption layers that safely expose enterprise data and tool actions, and they prioritize scalable integration patterns over one-off solutions. This individual collaborates closely with Data Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, operationalized solutions, while contributing to architectural decisions and raising the technical bar across the engineering organization.

Where you will make an impact

  • Build and maintain API-based integrations and lightweight services with strong auth, error handling, retries, logging, and monitoring.
  • Create the AI consumption layer: governed tool actions and a lightweight operational data layer (sourced from systems of record like Okta/AD, M365/admin portals, Box, ITSM platforms, etc.) that AI experiences can safely use (channel-agnostic; UX built by partners).
  • Use approved automation/orchestration tools; minimize bespoke code and prefer reusable patterns.
  • Deliver reusable connector templates/patterns (auth, RBAC, audit logs, telemetry) that can be applied across multiple use cases as needs shift.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and other platform teams for long-term hardening; deliver nimble last-mile pipelines and integrations when upstream timelines won’t meet business needs.
  • Operationalize what’s built: runbooks, support handoff, access reviews, secrets management, and basic SLOs.
  • Communicate clearly with IT and business stakeholders: translate needs into simple integration plans, provide concise status updates, and partner cross-functionally to deliver outcomes without requiring deep technical context from requestors

What you will bring

  • 3-6 years building and operating production integrations/services.
  • Strong software engineering skills building and operating API integrations and lightweight services (language-agnostic; Python a plus), including authentication, logging/monitoring, and secure secrets handling.
  • Experience with enterprise identity concepts and integrations (Okta; AD familiarity).
  • Hands-on experience with SQL-based access patterns (e.g., views, role-based access controls, and consumption-oriented datasets) in any modern data platform.
  • Practical AWS experience and security posture (IAM, Secrets Manager, logging/monitoring).
  • Practical automation/orchestration experience (Workato or similar iPaaS).

Good to have

  • Familiarity with MCP-style tool integration patterns (e.g., implementing/operating MCP servers or similar “tool connectors” that expose governed actions and data access to AI assistants).
  • Familiarity with ITSM platform integrations (e.g., ServiceNow) and/or M365 admin/usage reporting.

Key Skills

  • API integration (REST APIs) + OAuth2 / authentication
  • Okta (and Active Directory / groups)
  • AWS (specifically IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch/monitoring)
  • Workato (or “iPaaS”)
  • SQL
  • RBAC
  • MCP servers / tool connectors (or “LLM tool integration,” “function calling,” “AI connectors” as adjacent terms)
