About the Opportunity

The Platform Engineer – Network contributes to designing, implementing and managing corporate/enterprise wired and wireless networks as well as secure remote access solutions. They will also be responsible for keeping a healthy infrastructure, supporting ERP and non-ERP environments as well as providing both proactive and reactive support while collaborating with cross-functional teams and receiving guidance from Senior team members.

Where you will make an impact

  • Configure new and production network devices including L2 and L3 switches, routers, WAPs, firewalls, ZTNA, and VPNs
  • Assist in the design of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks
  • Assist with the physical installation of network equipment
  • Remote and onsite tier 2 and tier 3 diagnosis and resolution of network related issues
  • Perform routine network device firmware and software updates
  • Perform routing network device configuration backups
  • Monitor network health, stability, performance, utilization, throughput, security, and latency
  • Write network infrastructure assessment reports
  • Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs
  • Assist and train Junior team members
  • Identify opportunities to enhance & improve existing technologies within a network environment
  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and products
  • Work with vendors, contractors, consultants, project managers, IT managers, and fellow engineers in the implementation of LAN, WAN, and wireless networks and technologies
  • Assists with proposals, quotes, SOWs, vendor, and product selection
  • Provide regular updates to project and IT managers
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience working within an IT department servicing corporate and enterprise networks
  • Fortinet or Cisco knowledge/certification
  • A firm understanding of TCP/IP and associated protocols such as DNS, DHCP, 802.1Q, NAT, PAT, SNMP, SYSLOG, OSPF, and BGP
  • Experience configuring, managing, and diagnosing DNS solution.
  • Experience configuring, managing, and diagnosing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks and network equipment such as L2 and L3 switching, WAPs, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. All with an emphasis on Cisco equipment
  • Experience working in or on systems at a datacenter
  • Experience configuring IPSEC VPN tunnels
  • Experience with ZTNA solutions
  • Experience with overlay networks
  • Experience implementing 802.1x
  • Experience with RADIUS
  • Experience using network analysis tools like Wireshark, TCPDump, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA/CCNP certification is preferred.
  • Experience with one or more Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Meraki, Palo Alto.
  • Experience with Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches
  • Experience with Cisco AP's and Wireless Controllers
