About the Opportunity

The Cloud Transition Manager is relied upon to develop and lead the technical requirements required for migrating customers to the Managed Cloud and SaaS platforms.

The Cloud Transition Manager at Ellucian plays a critical role in executing the technical components of SaaS transitions for higher education institutions. As the primary technical point of contact, this role ensures environment provisioning, documentation, and coordination across internal teams. Cloud Transition Managers follow a structured project and customer management methodology to drive technical readiness and delivery quality.

In customer-facing engagements, the Transition Manager helps establish strong relationships with institutions by representing seamless internal coordination and maintaining confidence in Ellucian’s SaaS delivery. This role influences the customer experience from initial onboarding through go-live, ensuring successful transitions through proactive communication, risk mitigation, and milestone execution.

Where you will make an impact

  • Represent the Cloud Ops organization during pre-sales planning and sales-to-delivery transitions, supporting environment provisioning and project resourcing.
  • Collaborate with sales and services teams to shape project scopes of work, ensuring accurate service descriptions and realistic delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project calls with customers, vendors, and internal teams to manage technical priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide regular project health updates to leadership teams for visibility and forecasting.
  • Schedule and coordinate technical resources and activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate technical requirements gathering sessions to inform task development and execution.
  • Adhere to Cloud ITSM and security standards, ensuring compliance across all technical activities.
  • Communicate and promote Cloud standards and service offerings to customers, preparing them for successful SaaS adoption.
  • Coordinate internal evaluations of new service offerings and their implementation readiness.
  • Partner with services team members to develop and maintain integrated project plans (IPPs).
  • Lead and support major milestone events, including data refreshes and go-live activities.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks; manage issues and escalations to resolution.

What you will bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in technical project coordination or SaaS delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex information and business systems projects.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and translate functional requirements for technical teams.
  • Experience working with ERP or distributed application environments.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with effective time management and minimal need for supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones, with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity, customer service, and attention to detail.
